POLOKWANE -The association has been without a sponsor for the past 10 years despite producing international players, and according to Mswazi, they are desperately in need of a financial injection. The 42-year-old former softball player said the sporting code needs more sponsors to ensure that it is able to achieve its objectives.
“For us to attract sponsorship we need to make sure that softball is active in all five provincial districts and that district coordinators are established so that there is a clear flow of communication to the clubs. We are unable to achieve certain things because there is a disjuncture in our communication. We need to make sure that we have a good working relationship among the executive members and continue to honour the great relationship with our stakeholders,” Mswazi said.
Mswasi, who became Softball South Africa’s senior women’s team manager last year, mentioned that there is a need to strengthen women development and participation from all areas in the province.
“We need more women participation at national level but for us to achieve that we need to start with development programmes in our districts. There are a lot of talented players from various areas in our province and we need to help them to achieve their goals.”
