A 80km joyride to make a difference in the lives of learners

The Polokwane Joyride Cycling Club is on a mission to cycle and touch lives through their various charity projects.

POLOKWANE –  Their most recent charity cycle was from Polokwane to Mankweng where they donated school uniforms to learners from Thune Primary School.

Cyclists from as far as Gauteng, Tzaneen, Makhado, Moletjie, Zebediela and Seshego cycled over 80km to and from Savannah Mall to the school in Ga-Mamabolo.

“We had organised with the school to meet on their premises and the learners and their parents came to receive the uniforms. Teachers, members of the school governing body, and a local councillor were also present,” said the club’s Deputy Chair, Tshikani Moyana.

Moyana told CV that the club, with their friends and sponsors (Coca-Cola, AL Cell, Go Zone, Liberty Life and Shazza Holdings) were able to provide 33 with uniforms.

At the handover, the club was afforded an opportunity to share why they had chosen the school as a beneficiary, after which staff expressed their gratitude for the donation.
