Open throttles, dirt and mud

Quad and two-wheel bike enthusiasts can look forward to open throttles at Swannie Racing at Ysterberg at the end of the month.

POLOKWANE – Quad and two-wheel bike enthusiasts can look forward to open throttles at Swannie Racing at Ysterberg on Saturday, 27 February. The enduro race will test bikers’ skills and stamina, riding on wet and muddy as well as dusty gravel roads. Bikers will compete by completing as many laps as possible within the cut-off time to win podium positions.

Entry fees: R400 per entry and R300 for senior and children riders.

The serious riders will start at 10:00 and ride more or less 35km loops while the youngsters will start at 09:30 with loops totalling about 8km.

Categories are open team bike, open team quad, ironman quad and an ironman bike category.

Registration can be done on the race day prior to the start. Visitors and spectators can join in the fun at R20 per person and food and drinks will be sold.

To get to the venue, take the R101 from Polokwane to Mokopane, drive 28km and on your left will be the Midway Fruits Farm. Alternatively, use the GPS location 24°06’23.32″S 29°26’48.70″E.
