POLOKWANE – The nationwide lockdown also impacted the challenge and only eight rounds were hosted this year. The final round saw an impressive 90 players testing their skills in individual stableford format. The event also offered leaders on the score board a final opportunity to improve on their score.
This year’s winner, Dr Raymond Mushaike has been a member at the club for more than 10 years and he mentioned that the Review Golf Challenge is certainly one of the best events at the club. “I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and would like to thank Review and all the sponsors for always ensuring that everything is properly arranged and that no matter the weather, always ends in a joyous mood,” he said, adding that he would be in action again next year.
Dr Raymond walked away with a trophy as well as paid membership fees at the Polokwane Golf Club for 2021.
Runner-up, Nelson Marais, indicated that he would not miss next year’s challenge. “Review staff goes out of their way to make every event special. This year was just as exciting, despite the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. The drinks on the field are always welcomed by all golfers,” he said.
Third place winner, Liano Viviers emphasised that the Review Golf Challenge is unique and exciting. “The vibe is always lively and cannot compare to any other competition. Although Covid-19 had a big influence it remained joyful and ended well,” he said.
