3rd Super Cup for Stars FC

Star Sign FC secured a third Kilimanjaro Super Cup as they beat Queens FC 1-0 in the final.

LIMPOPO – The 2020 Super Cup was played at the Seshego Stadium recently and Stars Chairperson, Kagiso Komote, said the team worked hard for their win.

“We are the first team to win the cup for a third time. One of the many benefits of regular exercise is increased and sustained energy throughout the day and this was key to our success. We feel honoured to be the team that will honour Seshego’s hero, Sarel Nong,” Komote said.

The annual tournament is hosted in honour of Nong, who conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, and played by eight teams.

Nong congratulated the team on their victory and extended his appreciation to the community of Seshego for their support.

“It is wonderful when a community comes together to support this celebration and programmes that improve our youth,” he said.

Nong added that his expeditions were for the people of Limpopo as a whole, as well as South Africa.

“I am happy that the event has grown,” he said. The co-founder of the Polokwane Social Derby, Tumelo Sakkie Masebe told BONUS the tournament formed part of their movement’s call for a healthy lifestyle among the youth.

“We are young, hardworking and successful personalities with the goal of uniting the youth of Polokwane through sport. We encourage love and happiness and continue to fight diseases through living a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

Nong concluded the tournament by thanking the sponsors: MMP Security, Global, Rjt Tech, SAB Polokwane and Energy FM.
