Gear up for Kilimanjaro Super Cup this Sunday

The popular tournament was launched at SAB Polokwane last Thursday.

POLOKWANE – The fourth annual Kilimanjaro Super Cup (KSC) will be hosted in Seshego on Sunday, 29 November and the winners will be spoilt with a team building getaway to the Kruger National Park.

The popular tournament was launched at SAB Polokwane last Thursday.

Defending cup holders, Africanos Football Club will battle it out against 19 other teams and the purpose of the event is to honour Sarel Nong, who conquered Mount Kilimanjaro in 2017 following the death of racing champion, Gugu Zulu.

Nong told BONUS that he was overwhelmed to have the tournament played in his honour.

He added that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, two stadiums have been booked to allow for social distancing by supporters. One of the tournament’s organisers, Tumelo ‘Sakkie’ Masebe, says Nong flew Seshego’s flag high when he conquered Africa’s highest mountain, and the tournament aims to celebrate that achievement.

“Young aspiring entrepreneurs will also get a chance to promote their businesses at the tournament’s pop-up market.

“The tournament aims to unite the youth. We want to encourage people to live healthier lives, especially the youth to stay away from drugs and substance abuse,” he said.
