Local athlete says a sponsor will help him to do even better

He will go to the nationals in Gauteng next week which will be a true test of his skills.

POLOKWANE –  The 19-year-old Reward Monyeki from Mabatlane in Vaalwater needs assistance to make his athletics dreams come true. He explained that his interest was sparked when he was still at Mahlasedi Primary School when he took part in indigenous games. That created the like for keeping active and competing. He is currently doing his Gr 10 at Meetsetshehla Secondary School and is still committed to perform well in athletics.

He will go to the nationals in Gauteng next week which will be a true test of his skills. He hopes to perform well there so that he catch the attention of potential sponsors who can help him become a better athlete.

“I am desperate to get a sponsor because I need to someone to assist me to gain access to better training facilities. I am doing well by making use of what I have now but if I had access to proper facilities, I would do even better,” he said.

His personal best for triple jump is 15:13, 50 seconds for 400 m and 49,89 m for javelin.

He appeals to anybody who can assist him, to make his dream of becoming good enough to one day make the Olympics, to reach out to him at 082 287 0937.

“I promise they will not regret assisting me because I am ready to put in the work and I will make sure that they see where their investment in me is going. I really want this because athletics is my life,” he concluded.
