Polokwane City triumphs over Black Leopards
Polokwane City secured the 13th spot on the Absa Premiership League (PSL) following their 2-1 win over Black Leopards at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
POLOKWANE – City climb from 15th on the log with 23 matches and 23 points after Baroka FC lost to Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
Rise and Shine dominated from the get-go and created many chances but were unable to score. This, after misses by Sululani Phiri in the 13th minute and Mwape Musonda of Black Leopards in the 16th minute left the first half goalless for both teams.
Li Doda Duvha’s, Mokakolodi Ngele scored the opening goal of the match in the second half and just three minutes later, City’s Charlton Mashumba equalised.
Black Leopards responded by substituting Andiswa Ndawonde with Xolani Ndlovu, 30 minutes into the second half, while substituting City’s Jabu Maluleke with Kabelo Mahlasela added pressure to Black Leopard’s defenders, despite Masasela receiving a red card during injury time. Sibusiso Hlubi scored the winning goal for City.
