LIC raises the bar for cricket development in Limpopo with new programme

Cricketers from the city and around the province will now have an opportunity to better their skills in all areas of the game

POLOKWANE – The Impala Cricket Academy by Limpopo Impala Cricket (LIC) in affiliation with Cricket South Africa will be running from 1 February until 30 September. The high-performance programme will offer batting, bowling, wicket keeping, fielding, physical conditioning, fitness training, as well as practice matches, tournaments and tours.

In addition, the programme will also offer video analysis and player profiling, umpiring and scoring courses and off-season overseas programmes.

LIC says they are always on the lookout for new talent and promoting the sport which is fast growing in the province. Tommy Phiri, LIC CEO, says they have always wanted to give extra support to players to help improve their game and give them a platform to develop their talent in Limpopo.

“I’m looking forward to seeing local talent shine through the academy. I encourage players to make use of the opportunity to better their own skills and the sport for Limpopo by joining the academy.”

The academy offers two options for registration: Players can either register full time at a cost of R23 000 or weekends only at R5 000.
