Clinton uses any opportunity he can get to talk about safety in sport

Clinton Pienaar has had passion and love for motor sport long before a serious accident on his Kawasaki H2R in 2015 that left him with a broken femur and tibia

POLOKWANE – Clinton Pienaar is a motorcyclist who believes in developing talent in the sport but strongly believes in safety first. He has had passion and love for motor sport long before a serious accident on his Kawasaki H2R in 2015 that left him with a broken femur and tibia.

Clinton is an avid motorcyclist and a well known personality within the South African motorcycle fraternity. He is currently the editor of SuperBike Magazine South Africa where he writes numerous articles on two wheel riding and he is the owner of the SA Biking Academy, which is mainly a track day and motorcycle events company.

He recently visited Polokwane during round five of the Super Bike magazine short circuit series held in the city. Although Clinton has raced for most of his life, he is also a person with many interesting stories to tell and uses his knowledge and experience through the articles he writes, to help prevent and give insight into accident safety programmes.

Clinton, who holds multiple championship titles in Super Bike Racing, says his love for the sport began when he was younger and a career highlight was winning a grueling 1000 km showcasing his talent and endurance.

“Safety is something that I believe must be first in any sport, but this is even more so in a sport that involves high speed, like motor sport. This is why I make use of every opportunity to tell people about safety and this goes for both riders and spectators,” he said.

Clinton has a passion for riding and he would like to see it grow in the country and also see local riders take their talent out of the country. However, he is and always will be a front runner for safety first.

“Before anyone gets on a bike, be safe and make sure that you have a licence, do not put your own and other people in danger. Have fun but be safe,” is his message.
