Partnership brings hope to youth in Makhado

In a bid to promote youth involvement in sports, Collins Sebola Inc recently entered into a youth development partnership with Mamu Community Development.

LIMPOPO – The partnership aims to empower the youths in the Makhado area by giving them a chance to showcase their sporting talents with the aim of identifying excellent talent so they can be sent for selection trials in development teams in Gauteng and other provinces.

“We are partnering with Collins Sebola Inc to scout talent among the u/15 boys in the Sinthumule and Kutama areas,” said Mamu Community Development General Secretary, Jafter Mamugudubi. “We’ll go to all villages and select the boys before bringing them together for matches where we’ll select the best ones for the trials in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) development academies.”

He added the youths who wished to participate should have been born in 2004. He said the partnership came after many parents of young boys in the Sinthumule and Kutama areas read the story of young Tshifhiwa King Mayor Maligudu where the organisation successfully secured him a place in the Kaizer Chiefs Development Academy.

As a pilot move for the partnership, Collins Sebola Inc recently handed two full soccer kits to Mamu Community Development.

“We are excited about the partnership where our aim is to pioneering the sporting needs and aspirations of youths,” said Collins Sebola Inc Chief Executive Director, Collins Sebola.
