SAPS Rugby Week results

The SAPS Rugby Week kicked off of Monday, 2 July at the Pietersburg Rugby Fields and promises to be an action-packed treat for players and supporters alike.

POLOKWANE -During the first day the teams had the opportunity to meet and size each other up during the opening ceremony. All the matches will be played in the city and entry is free, so there is no excuse to miss out on the rugby action as teams from across South Africa face off.

Teams include Head Office, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Gauteng, Northern Cape, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, invitational teams and the Limpopo team.

The teams from most provinces comprise men and women’s teams with all players working for the police. Four matches are played a day which give spectators the opportunity to see most of the teams in action. The final will be played on Saturday, 7 July as the winning teams from Pool A and Pool B battle it out.

The Limpopo team’s first game was played against Gauteng and the match proved to be a lot harder than both teams anticipated. Gauteng drew first blood during the first half but Limpopo retaliated with a try and conversion in the second half. The remainder of the match was close with the home team letting the win slip through their fingers by only three points.

Day one results:
