Hot action at Winter Games

The MEC of Sport, Arts and Culture, Onicca Moloi, together with the MEC for Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe, hosted the Provincial School Sport Winter Games 2018 on Saturday.

POLKOWANE – The opening ceremony was held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium before the athletes moved to their respective playing areas namely the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Capricorn High School sport fields, the netball and volleyball courts next to Virgin Active and the Seshego Stadium.

The winter games promote the continuous participation in sport as pronounced in the sport and recreation plan.

Stand out athletes were identified by the Limpopo Academy of Sport and to be monitored by the Limpopo Sport Confederation for recommendation to sport focus schools for further nurturing and development.

The purpose of the games was to also identify the athletes who will represent Limpopo at the 2018 National School Sport Winter Games in various sport codes.
