Lethuli United’s ‘Messi’ makes a name for himself

At only 12-years-old, soccer fanatic Temosho Kgare is making waves on the field as captain of the Lethuli United Brothers Development Football Club

POLOKWANE – Looking up to top local players such as Teko Modise, Tiyane Mabunda, and Percy Tau who all play for Mamelodi Sundowns, Temosho has thus far achieved seven medals with his team of which six are gold and one silver.

“I enjoy playing soccer because it helps to keep me fit and away from hanging out with the wrong crowd. This also helps me focus on my soccer as well as school. I got the nickname ‘Messi’ from my coach and team because they say I play almost as good as he does and if I keep playing hard and practising, I will be in his league one day,” he said.

In his spare time and over the weekend, Temosho trains younger players and teaches them what he knows about the sport.

Temosho also has World Cup fever and says it is a great learning curve for him.

“I enjoy watching the world cup as I get to learn more about the sport and about other players whom I did not know about,” he added on.
