Aces award their cricket stars

The Nashua Aces Cricket Club recently thanked their members for thier hard work and acknowledged their achievements within the sport during a special awards ceremony.

POLOKWANE – Members of the club were thanked by Nashua Aces Cricket Club Managing Director, Grant Trueman, during the ceremony at the Polokwane Rugby Field.

Trueman said the cricket club has grown to be one of the biggest cricket clubs in Limpopo, adding the players had participated in four of the provincial leagues this season – the T20, Saturday League, Promotional and Premier League.

The Aces are among the top clubs in the province and walked away with lots of silverware at this year’s Limpopo Impala Cricket (LIC) annual awards ceremony held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

They were awarded 13 trophies from LIC for their performance, both on and off the field. During their awards ceremony the club honoured several of their players, with the youngsters bagging the majority of the awards.

Erik Viljoen, Stebian van der Walt, Jan-Lou de Beer (league players of the year, senior and junior respectively) and Ilse-Marie Greyling.

Aces said they look forward to the upcoming season and the successes it will bring.
