Pietersburg Road Runners are geared up for the Comrades

Thousands of runners will, tomorrow, test their endurance when they participate in this year's Comrades Marathon.

POLOKWANE – Local athletics club Pietersburg Road Runners brags with no fewer than 22 runners who will be taking part this year.

Review caught up with a few of them before they headed off to the event.

Helga Moreira is looking to finish her second Comrades Marathon this year. She has been running for two years now and hopes to finish in a time of 11:30.

Jacques Blerk will be running his first Comrades Marathon and hopes to finish in 11 hours.

Petrus Kgopa has completed four Comrades marathons. This year, he is hoping for a time of 08:30. He has been running for 14 years now.

Noelene Mare will run her first Comrades Marathon this year. She hopes to finish around 11:20 and has been running for a year now.

Annalie Fuchs has been running for three years now. This year, in her second Comrades, she hopes to finish between 10 and 11 hours.

Amri van Aarde completed her first Comrades Marathon in a time of 11:20 and this year, hopes to finish in under 12 hours.

Liezel Swanepoel will be running her first Comrades Marathon and hopes to finish in a time of 11 hours.

Lucky Maahlo will be hoping to finish his second Comrades Marathon in under 10 hours.
