Eagles Cricket Club end off season with prize giving

Eagle's Cricket Club (ECC) hosted the club's prize-giving at Nguni Grill on Friday evening, honouring players for their hard work and dedication.

POLOKWANE – According to ECC Chairperson, Dewald Weterman, these kind of evens are held to encourage and motivate players.

“We do this every year in order to award the players for a job well done throughout the season to give something back to them for the effort they have put in. It is off-season now, we will start with practice in August. We are ready and eager to plan the season ahead.”

He said they finished third in the league, after previously taking victory twice. “Hopefully, next season will be a good one for ECC. We have many plans in action for the season ahead,” said Weterman, thanking the players for putting all their effort into making the season one of the most successful ones yet and encouraged them to keep the same spirit for the next season.

ECC young player of the year, Sias Willemse, said it meant a lot to him to be recognised.
