Darts players have sights set on Lim team

The Limpopo team will represent the province in Johannesburg at the national competition later this year.

POLOKWANE – Darts players from the city and across Limpopo recently met at the Coyotes Pub and Grill to measure their skills to see who will be chosen for the Limpopo team.

“During these tryouts we observe the players’ skills to see who will be chosen for the Limpopo team,” Susan van Jaarsveldt, Limpopo Darts Association Secretary said.

The South African Darts Championship is set to take place at Kibler Park from 7 to 14 July and Susan believes the players will make Limpopo proud. This was the last session the Limpopo Darts Association team had at Coyotes Pub and Grill as the pub and grill closed down.

They will move their play and practice venue to Soetdorings Country Club.

Jaco van den Bergh keeps his eye on the dartboard.

“The club and its players are in need of sponsors to attend competitions and events. We plead with anyone from the community, businesses or government to come on board and assist us with dart kits and money for accommodation and transport. At this stage we use our own money but unfortunately this means not all players who qualify to compete at national competitions can do so due to financial limitations,” she said.
