POLOKWANE – Taking into account his familiarity with the sport, it is no surprise that he has now been chosen as one of two players form Impala Cricket to form part of the South African Rural Team.”I started playing the game after seeing my brother play and I loved the game from then and always will,” he added.

Fueling his love for cricket, he also explained how his brother was responsible for doing this, as he would teach him new tricks that he learnt from school making him an even better player.
“My brother is also my role model and I believe that he has been the person responsible for my success in the game,” he added.
Touching more on the sensitive side of the sport, he explained that his love and involvement in the sport has taught him how to be humble. “There is a saying that us players believe in, that if you do not humble yourself mother cricket will do it for you. That is my mindset when I go on tour and it has not let me down,” he added.
When he is not playing cricket, he is playing tennis or rugby and teaching other young players the fundamentals of cricket.
“We are a family of five, I was born in Nigel and I am still searching for Mrs Right. I love giving back to the community and believe it is important for anyone who plays a sport to share their passion with others,” he added.
A supporter of the Proteas and the Caribbean cricket teams, he is deeply motivated to continue reaching out and doing more for people.
“A cricket player I admire is England cricketer, Ben Stokes. I encourage young people to take on the sport as in many rural areas it is sports like cricket that keep children away from drugs,” he added.
Skade also expressed his hopes of one day being included in the South African team, but also explaining the honour and privilege of being included in the South African Rural Team.
“You are not always going to be on top. You are not always going to be that guy. Just humble yourself when it comes to sport and everything will come your way,” he explained.
He further expressed his gratitude to his coaches who helped him in achieving a number of milestones in his career.
