City FC and Ajax draw one all

The recent game between Polokwane City and Ajax Cape Town ended in a 1-all draw in the full view of the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, 4 February during the Absa Premiership match.

POLOKWANE – During the action packed match, Polokwane City’s Walter Musona capitalised on Ajax Cape Town’s mistake, scoring a hat trick goal in the 68th minute. Rise and Shine took the game from their opponents from the first whistle, with their striker Mondli Miya dribbling past the Ajax Cape Town defenders.

The visiting side, however, didn’t give up without a fight as Ajax continued to attack in a collective manner with the striker Fagrie Lakay dishing out a short goal before Polokwane City’s defender Sibusiso Mbonani equalised the score by scoring his own.

According to Polokwane City coach, Bernard Molekwa, the team is constantly trying its utmost best, but in the event of a lack of luck, the team will then have to push forward and work hard until that luck makes its way through. The coach also explained the team’s will to move forward, even in the event of a member’s absence. “We have dominated the game from the first whistle. We played this match without the striker Rodney Ramagalela, and it did not affect us.

“Most of the chances we created were clear chances so we cannot rely on Ramagalela. We still have a team that can play without him, but he’s an important player like any other player,” he explained.

Molekwa also added that although the players did their best, he was rather disappointed on the way in which they chose to outline and plan the entire game.

“We should not have considered things that way, but they played better than Ajax Cape Town. There is room for improvement and I still have to work on certain things,” he concluded.
