Polokwane City push through to Telkom Knockout Semi-finals

Polokwane City will host Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, 19 November at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex

POLOKWANE – This, after Polokwane City’s advancement into the semi-final round of the Telkom Knockout Cup Quarter-final game by a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Orlando Pirates in the quarter-final match at Orlando Stadium.

During the clash, the Pirate’s defense was purged by a golden boot cross from Rodney Ramagalela to Rendani Ndou which slotted past the goalkeeper in the second minute of the game. However, Pirates managed to regroup and scored an equalizer in the 13th minute, courtesy of Ntsikelelo Nyauza.

Polokwane City’s attack did not rest and after some pressure, an excellently timed pass from Jabu Maluleke to teammate Rendani Ndou produced a second goal in the 41st minute.

Bidvest Wits also held off a spirited Baroka FC to claim their spot in the Telkom Knockout Semi-final with a 1-0 victory at the Bidvest Stadium. They managed to maintain a strong lead when they scored an 11th minute goal from striker Amr Gamal.

The Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final took place on Saturday, 4 November.

The first semi-final clash between Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs will take place on Saturday, 18 November at the Bidvest Stadium.
