During the award ceremony, the best player in the world, Christiano Ronaldo gave credit to Masuluke, saying his goal was ‘great’.

Review spoke to Baroka FC’s Marketing Manager, Richard Mashabane who says the team got together to watch the awards last night and they are very proud of Masuluke.

“We are extremely proud of Oscarine. Being the first South African to ever be nominated, he has not only made the country proud but the continent too,” he told Review.

Fans took to Twitter to show their support for the goalkeeper, with many agreeing that he made the country proud.

Many others, however, said the reason Oscarine didn’t receive any votes was due to the high cost of data in South Africa.

Despite not winning, all South African’s should be proud of his nomination and for putting the country on the football map.
