Zani’s perfect score

Twenty-six senior gymnasts from Zanis Gymnastics Academy competed in the annual SA Gymnastics held from 4 to 7 October.

POLOKWANE – The SA’s took place at the Matsport Gymnastic Centre in Centurion.

Zani’s however, competed in the artistic, rhythmic and trampoline division.

Their routines bagged them a total of 45 medals and were announced as the overall winners.

Zani’s Gymnastics Academy owners, Annemarie du Plessis and Zani Prinsloo, are proud of the gymnasts, stating that the academy is now 14 gold medals richer and very proud of this feat.

Apart from the superb routines by the gymnasts, 11-year-old Sebastian Austin caused quite a stir when he scored a perfect 10.00 on the p-bars, acquiring a gold medal for his routine.

Gymnasts from all over the country came together to compete for the SA Gymnastics Games Champion title from level 4 to 7.

Results:

Zanis Gymnasts who claimed four medals or more at the Gym Games:

Kamogelo Rangoato (5), Liam Botha (5), Leandre du Preez (4), Aydon Venter (4), Kyle Herz (4), Chere Lee Vos (4).

Gymnasts who excelled are:

1. Leandre du Preez: Level 6 artistic, bronze – floor and uneven bars, gold for mini-trampoline, overall gold.

2. Aydon Venter: Level 4 artistic, silver – floor, p-bars, high-bar, overall gold.

3. Kamogelo Rangoato: Level 4 artistic, gold – floor & p-bar, silver – vault, bronze – high bar, overall gold.

4. Sanja Pretorius: Level 6 artistic, gold – floor, overall silver.

5. Lara Prenzler: Level 6 artistic, gold – beam, bronze – floor.

6. Sebastiaan Austin: Level 4 artistic, gold- p-bar (perfect 10.00!), gold – floor, silver – high bar.

7. Kyle Herz: Level 6 artistic, gold – floor, pommel, p-bars, overall silver.

8. Liam Botha: Level 6 artistic, gold – rings, silver – vault and high-bar, bronze – pommel, overall bronze.

9. Chere Lee Vos: Level 5 artistic, silver- uneven bars & beam, overall silver.

10. Martin Botha: Level 5 artistic, silver – rings, bronze – high bar & mini-trampoline.

11. Kgwarihla Ledwaba: Level 4 artistic, bronze- p-bars, overall bronze.

12. Rotondwa Maudu: Level 4 rhythmic, silver – clubs, overall bronze.

13. Liana Pragji: Level 4 artistic, silver – floor.

14. Monene Anker: Level 7 rhythmic, bronze – free dance.

15. Perez Maponya: Level 4 rhythmic, bronze – free dance

16. Duncan Tilburn: silver – mini-trampoline.
