1-0 win for TTM

Tshakhuma Tshamadzi-vhandila (TTM) narrowly beat Jomo Cosmos 1-0 in their National First Division match played at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

LIMPOPO – Cosmos did not show any appetite for goals in the first half.

They played defensive football and allowed their opponents to spend a lot of time within their territory. The referee flashed the first yellow card in the 30th minute and Teboho Kalate of TTM was reprimanded for a dangerous tackle on Denzil Haoseb.

The only time Cosmos came close to scoring was when Sicelo Mkhize went loose from the left flank and shot wide from close range. At that stage, the game was 38 minutes old.

As one of their many ways to search for goals, TTM substituted Khunadi Nkoana and Aluwani ‘Killer’ Nedzamba for Pail Nuzhard and Katlego Molomo.

In the 68th minute, a shot by Frank Motebejane of TTM missed the goal post by inches.

The goal which separated the boys from the men came in the 74th minute. TTM capitalised in the defence’s area after Cosmos defender missed the ball and went to Aluwani Nedzamba who passed the ball to the dribbling wizard, Mpambaniso Monde, who scored easily.

Late in the game, Cosmos should have equalised but Thato Lingwati’s ground cutter hit the woodwork and bounced back into play, much to the disappointment of the team’s fans.
