[VIDEO] Stephan Steyn speaks ahead of the Hanlie Steyn Memorial Race

The race took place on Saturday, 9 September, in honour of blind runner Stefan Steyn’s wife, Hanlie who passed away in 2015.

POLOKWANE – Runners gathered early on Saturday morning to honour the life of Hanlie Steyn.

Polokwane Athletics Club (PAC) President, Corrie Calitz, said Stefan, who had run more than 10 Comrades Marathons, was always supported by his wife every step of the way, despite her being diagnosed with cancer and being very ill. In honour of her memory, Stefan approached PAC after her death to organise a race in her memory and they readily agreed.

The race will comprised of 5 km, 10 km and 21,1 km options.
