Polokwane City ready for new season

Polokwane City Football Club will now focus on the new soccer season matches. This was confirmed by the team's Chief Operation Officer, Tincy Tema.

POLOKWANE –  According to Tema, their reason for commencing with normal training before the new season starts is that they wanted the team coach to get enough time to prepare the team for the season ahead.

“We are ambitious, with a goal to achieve, and we therefore have to go for the best.”

Although the new soccer season of Absa Premier League starts next month, it is already business as usual in the City camp.

He told CV that his team is ready for league games. He revealed that his team will make sure that the team competes for league championship in the coming season. City resumed with their normal training sessions last Monday.

Asked how they are planning to replace the released players, Tema said they are assessing a number of players from Premier Soccer League teams and abroad.

Although Tema was reluctant to confirm this, CV was reliably informed that City had already secured the signatures of former Baroka left back, Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali.

He said the technical staff will give them direction on which players will go and which will remain.

He further stated it was not easy for them to let the highly experienced players go.

“We could not keep players that we knew we were not going to utilise,” he said.
