Opportunity for young local footballers

Choma Choma Football Club Academy is calling all u/15 football players to attend their five-day open camp in July.

POLOKWANE – The camp will take place from 10 to 14 July at the Pietersburg Cricket Club.

Choma Choma is affiliated with the South African Football Association (Safa) and the academy covers the entire province.

According to Choma Choma Academy Manager, Dominic Ramokgopa, the aim of the open camp is to select players for the 2018 academy intake.

Dominic Ramokgopa (Choma Choma Academy, Manager) calls all young soccer players from across Limpopo to attend the five-day open camp in July.

“We have invited scouts from professional development clubs to join the camp for this purpose and we are searching soccer talent all over the province.

“The main purpose of the camp is to scout young talented players and develop them to become better players as well as giving them an opportunity to play at a professional level.

“We focus on real long term development; it’s not an overnight process. We are patient with our players and we seek patience from our players and parents. We are not concerned with where our players will play in three months; we are concerned with where they will be when they are qualified. We see the fruit of this in watching many of our teams play throughout the season,” said Ramokgopa.

He told BONUS the players have to bring along their full playing kit, original birth certificate or ID to attend.

“We love to build winning teams and to get players to the next level, whether it is SAB, Second Division, First Division and PSL or overseas leagues. We believe it is even more fundamental to teach character and good work ethics to our players and help them become outstanding citizens in our society. “We teach our players to show respect for teammates, opponents, coaches and officials at any moment of the game. We believe in teamwork. We prepare our kids to always be ready to work in harmony with their peers and with their coaches, so that they can be prepared for any social situation in life. We don’t babysit our players, we help them grow and mature by trusting them with responsibilities both on and off the pitch. We look for families who embrace that we will help their kids learn important life and moral values,” he said.

Interested players and parents can contact Dominic Ramokgopa at 076 250 6541 or Sello Chokwe at 072 639 7766.
