Hockey players excel at Queens Hockey Fest

The Limpopo Provincial u/12 and u/13 hockey teams played their hearts out at the Queens Hockey Festival at Queens High School in Johannesburg recently.

LIMPOPO – At this annual event provincial teams meet to play against each other for their final preparations before the inter provincial tournaments and regional tournaments taking place during the school holiday.

Sunrise Primary School has nine hockey stars in the Limpopo provincial teams. Malesela Matlou and Katlego Mahlanya scored three goals for their team Limpopo Marula against Northern Gauteng. They play for the u/12 team. Shaun Molokomme, Katlego Masipa and Ramoshie Monsthiwa play for the u/13 boys team while Vincent Tladi and Precious Phago are in the u/13 boys and girls A teams. Soviet Mokwele and Mohau Mokoka are in the u/12 girls team.

According to Kubs Kozana, the Sunrise Primary hockey coach, the u/13 A boys scored six goals for the tournament. These hockey players will be very busy the next two months. The u/12 teams will be playing in Krugersdorp from 5-9 July, the u/13 B team will be in action at the hockey farm in Emalahleni from 12 -16 July and the u/13 A teams will be busy playing at the North West University in Potchefstroom from 2-6 July.

Sunrise Primary School are very proud of their hockey players and wishes them only gold when the games is done.
