[IN PICTURES] RWL road race results

The event, organised annually by Run/Walk for Life Polokwane, saw runners come together at Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord Primary to take part in the 5 km, 10, km, and 15 km race.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Road Runners (PRR) athlete, Mapoto Lutendo, secured the win for Saturday’s Aïda 15 km road race.

Breathing down his neck in second place was Hentick Malatji from the Folang Athletics Club.

Gift Ramabele from the Eskom Athletics Club was the first woman runner across the line in the 15 km race. In second place was private entrant, Hilda Molokomme, with Daleen Curtin from Polokwane Athletics Club occupying the third spot.

The category winners of the 15 km race were:

• Junior men – Jacob Khomola (University of Limpopo).

• Veteran men – Peter Sprayman (private).

• Master men – Ngwe Tjane (Polokwane Athletics Club).

• Grand master men – Johannes Phago (Moletjie Athletics Club).

• Veteran women – Isabella Halbisch (Polokwane Athletics Club).

• Master women – Amanda Kruger (PRR).

• Grand master women – Adel Matotoka (University of Limpopo).

• Open and master walker women – Yolandi du Plessis (Run/Walk for Life).

• Veteran walker – Fazia Issuto (Potties Athletic Club).

The category winners of the 10 km race were:

• Open and veteran men – Bethuel Netshitenzhe (PRR).

• Junior men – Solomon Moja (University of Limpopo).

• Master men – Petrus Kgopa (PRR).

• Grand master – Jannie Sacco (Run/Walk for Life).

• Open and master walker men – Michael Halbisch (Polokwane Athletics Club).

• Open women – Joyce Netshifhefhe (PRR).

• Veteran women – Elizna Kotzé (PRR).

• Master women – Amelia Haupt (Polokwane Athletics Club).

• Open and master walker women – Daleen van Zyl (Potties Athletic Club).

• Grand master walker women – Anne-Mari Venter (Run/Walk for Life).
