POLOKWANE – No less than eight soccer teams from various companies and government departments in the city will lock horns on the pitch for the first Hollywood Bets Charity Soccer Tournament taking place in Seshego (Zone 2), at the Steel Firm grounds on Saturday.
Teams from BMW Autohaus, Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Eskom, SAB Breweries, Old Mutual, SABC, Polokwane Municipality and Hollywood Bets are competing for a R50 000 cash prize to be donated to a charity organisation of their choice.
According to Hollywood Mobile Marketing and Training Assistant, Pearl Manasoe, all the money must go to a charity. She believes the tournament might become an annual event.
Soccer fanatics are invited to watch and cheer for the teams. The winning team will also get a trophy and medals with the second and third place finishers walking home with medals.
“The cash prize is donated by Hollywood Bets because we wanted to plough back to the community. The tournament is open for the public and local companies that are willing to sell and/ or show off their products are also welcome but have to make arrangements beforehand,” Manasoe said.
