Swimmers take to the water in Lim championship

The Limpopo Swimming Championship took place at the weekend and the swimmers did not disappoint.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Championship Swimming Competition made a big splash over the weekend with swimmers from all over Limpopo taking part in the three-day event.
The competition kicked off on Friday and ended on Sunday with five swimming clubs from Limpopo taking part and showing off their talent and skill.
The competition is held annually to give swimmers in various age groups the chance to compete provincially.
A total of 272 events kept judges on their toes and resulted in several disqualifications during the weekend.
Some of the best swimmers during the event were:
Girls:
• Chignet Davel – six gold medals in the nine years and older group.
• Lara Daling – nine gold medals in the 10 years and older group.
• Lisbe Booyse – seven gold medals in the 11 years and older group.
• Kristen Lottering – 11 gold medals in the 12 years and older group.
• Bernice Laboff – six gold medals in the 13 years and older group.
• Zané Botha – nine gold medals in the 14 years and older group.
• Sulé van der Merwe – 13 gold medals in the 16 years and older group.
Boys:
• Jaun Randall – eight gold medals in the eight years and older group.
• Ruan Potgieter – 12 gold medals in the nine years and older group.
• Jason Bosman – 10 gold medals in the 10 years and older group.
• Regardt Grobler – 10 gold medals in the 11 years and older group.
• Ruben Glover – six gold medals in the 12 years and older group.
• Daniel Smit – four gold medals in the 13 years and older age group.
• GJ Roets – five gold medals in 14 years and older age group.
• Ivan Beukes – seven gold medals in the 16 years and older age group.
