Muller dethrones ‘King of the Cage’ Kabannek

The recent return of the Cage Rage series saw the crowning of a new King of the Cage after an action packed evening on Friday.

POLOKWANE – Various martial arts warriors from all over the country came together at the Henri Eksteen Dojo where they put their prowess in the cage to the test to emerge as the ultimate winner in their respective categories.
The Last Man Standing was the main attraction of the evening where the former King of the Cage, Paul Kubannek, defended his South African World International Martial Arts Association and Organisation (WIMAAO) belt and title.
Although he fought with all the heart and determination he has become renown for, a new King of the Cage, hailing from Gauteng, was crowned.
Joshua Saul Muller was crowned the new champion after he dethroned Kubannek in a nailbiting, action packed fight. Along with the covetous belt and title, he also received a cash prize of R6 000.
Event organiser, Henri Eksteen, had great praise for all the fighters who competed, singling out Muller and Kubannek in particular.
“Muller showcased his talents in the cage by displaying some stunning grappling techniques. Kubannek in turn defended his title gallantly and, as far as I am concerned, he is one of the smallest and lightest fighters on the cards, but he has the heart of a lion,” Eksteen said.
