Calling the city’s skateboarders
It is once again time for the annual Ry's & ReMax Skateboard competition hosted by skateboarder Rynardt van der Merwe.
POLOKWANE – This is the fourth year the competition takes place and this time there is a new angle to it.
“This year we will have a two-day event and the competition will take place on a Saturday. On the Sunday, we will assist beginner skateboarders with their moves,” Rynardt explains.
The competition will take place at Mall of the North on Saturday, 15 October and Sunday 16 October. As usual there are many prizes to be won.
“We want to help eager skateboarders who struggle with certain moves get better at their craft. We want to promote skateboarding as a sport in the city and establish a group of riders who will get together on a permanent basis to ride. It is to show that skateboarders are not bad, we just like to have fun.”
Entrants can sign up from 09:00 and Sunday’s classes will also start at 09:00. Entry is free and all ages are welcome.
