POLOKWANE – Secretary of the club, Olga Joubert, says she is proud of the members and their achievement. She adds that although there was a decline in interest in the sport in the province, their new strategies have paid dividends and more people are showing interest in the sport.
Olga along with her husband, Danie, was among the players who took part in the tourney.
The other players who took part were Gina Kasselman, Gerhard Nel, Divya George, Zaraha and Roy Varghese.
Four members of the club will take part in the Stavridis Cup and Woodroffe Cup, both taking place in Durban from 21 to 29 October. Zaraha and Divya will take part in the Stavridis Cup while Danie and Olga will take part in the Woodroffe Cup.
Olga explains that the players who want to qualify to take part in these tournaments need to take part in at least three of the four regional tournaments in Limpopo during the year.
