POLOKWANE – He has his sights set on taking first place at next year’s race and signed with KPMG running Club to improve his chances of realising his dream.
Photo has been with the Pietersburg Road Runners (PRR) for the past eight years and told Review the decision to move to KPMG was a difficult one. Pietersburg Road Runners has been a part of Photo’s journey from the days he worked at the club as a car guard, up to his recent appointment at VW Polokwane.
“I am a very loyal person and would have run for PRR next year, but I was advised by our club’s management that I am going to need more than what PRR can offer and it is best that I change clubs if I am serious about winning,” said Photo.
He added that KPMG has a lot more training opportunities to offer, including high altitude training camps. He said he is excited about working with such an elite club.
Photo has big plans for next year, apart from winning the Comrades. He also aims to win a gold medal in the Two Oceans Marathon.
