Hanlie Steyn Memorial Race set for 10 Sept

Presented by the Polokwane Athletic Club, runners will be able to compete in either a 5 km, 10km or 21.1km race.

POLOKWANE – The Hanlie Steyn Memorial race will take place on Saturday 10 September 2016 at Oosskool.

The race will be run under the rules of IAAF and ASA and no iPods or earphones will be allowed with offenders being disqualified. Athletes wanting to take part can register either on Friday, 9 September from 16:30-19:00 or before the race on Saturday, 10 September at the Oosskool Rugby field and a fee of R30 (5km), R50 (10km), R80 (21.1km) and R30 (temporary licence) is required.

The following rules apply to the race:

– All runners in the 10km and 21.1 km have to wear their permanent ASA licence or register and display a temporary licence.

– Runners may not be dressed in any advertising material on his/her clothing during the race.

– All licensed athletes must wear a valid 2016 licence on the back of their vest.

– Official race numbers are to be displayed on the front and permanent/temporary licence on the back of vests.

– Walkers must wear “W” on back and front if competing for a prize.

– Official cut-off time for 21.1km is three hours.

– Winners must attend prize giving.

The starting time for 10km and 21.1km is 06:30 and 07:00 for 5km. Medals will be presented to all finishers.
