KPMG launched running club

KPMG is an auditing company that prides itself on taking care of the health of their employees and they recently launched a running club to prove they are committed to this statement.

POLOKWANE – The launch took place recently at the company’s office in Polokwane. The running club will be for the company’s staff and their families as well as their alumni. Dana Coetzee, National Manager of KPMG’s running clubs said she is excited about the project. “We started a club at the KPMG head office in Johannesburg and we decided to expand it to include all our branches.

“We have the elite, semi-elite and development groups respectively. They will take part in various races across South Africa,” Coetzee explained.

Matsobane Tleane, Managing Director of KPMG Polokwane, said the main reason they started the running club was to ensure the well-being of their staff. “We started the club mainly for our employees, we have a notion, Fit for Business. We want to keep our employees motivated and engage them in more activities because we care about them. We are encouraging them to be active and we chose running because it is a well recognised sport in the country and we will perhaps include other sporting codes as well in the future,” Tleane told Review.

Linkie Molewa, a KPMG employee says she is eager to join the running club. “I think this will be a positive thing. It is about us being fit and living an active lifestyle so we will not just be looking at winning championships,” Molewa explained.
