New FC coach sees changes on the cards

“The chairman and his technical team have confidence in me and the players," Polokwane City FC new head coach, Eymel Luc.

POLOKWANE -New head coach, Eymel Luc from Belgium, has signed a two-year contract with Polokwane City FC.

This after coach, Julio Leal parted ways with the club at the end of the last season.

Eymael has a good track record as he coached AS Vita and AFC Leopards among other clubs on the African continent in the last six years.

The happy Eymael said it was his first time coaching a South African team, and he was happy.

“The chairman and his technical team have confidence in me and the players. I know the team didn’t reach the top eight last season, and I am going to make changes. I will try to work on the weaknesses. I don’t like to lose games, but that needs commitment from the players. I will do my best for the team. What I need is the support of everybody starting from players, technical team, management and fans,” he said.

“I know Rise & Shine is not a big team like Kaizer Chief or Orlando Pirates, but I will do my best. I was watching the players during training and I am convinced of their skills.”

Asked if he was in Polokwane to stay, he said: “in football, signing a contract with a club is like signing a departure, so one can’t guarantee his future as a coach”.

City FC have released six players including Cole Alexander who is joining Super Sport, Punch Masenamela, Tlou Molekwana and have signed five players including top striker Rodney Ramagalela, Walter Maponyane from Chippa United player, Walter Maponyane.
