POLOKWANE – Reese, who is a Gr 10 learner at Stanford Lake College (SLC), recently got an opportunity to shine on the podium after finishing first in the u/16 girls’ category during the South African Country Districts (SACD) Squash Tournament that was held in Bloemfontein.
Reese was the South African u/14 squash champion last year and participated in various international squash tournaments since she started taking part in the sport. Reese won the title when she was only 13 years old.
According to her mother, Samantha, Reese ranked sixth in South Africa last year and she hopes to finish first this year.
“Reese did well in the SACD tournament and is now off to the Interprovincial Tournament. We are hopeful for good results. This is Reese’s second year in the u/16 girls’ category and she is doing well so far,” says Samantha.
SLC Marketer, Rona McGaffin, congratulated Reese on her achievement and wished her the best of luck with the Interprovincial Tournament.
