Nedbank Cup Final: seats going fast, book now

Soccer fans in the province are encouraged to buy tickets and fill up the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex to its capacity when Supersport United will battle it out on the pitch against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup finals on Saturday - kick-off time is at 15:00..

LIMPOPO – The city of Polokwane will be hosting the #NedbankCupFinal for the very first time in the history of the competition. According to Polokwane Municipality Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng the city has previously put forth bids to host finals of various cup competitions hosted by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) namely, the TELKOM knockout and MTN8.

She says these bids were mostly unsuccessful owing to circumstances determined by the PSL until this opportunity to host the Nedbank Cup Final.

“It is the wish of the municipality to at least host a PSL cup final once in two years. The opportunity allows the city to showcase itself and the great potential in growing the local economy,” explained Nkadimeng.

She also says most accommodation establishments are occupied when these matches are hosted, local businesses grow when people from outside of Polokwane visit.

She added that they have had a great relationship with the PSL where they have hosted up to 15 cup matches since 2010. With that, they demonstrated the capacity to handle events of this magnitude as well as encouraged soccer enthusiasts to return to the stadium.

“We shall put all plans in place to encourage soccer lovers to fill the stadium to capacity and show that we are a force to be reckoned with.

The children’s ticket category is already sold out reports Kickoff.

“There are now two categories of tickets available left: R80 (west stand only) and and R60 (rest of the stadium).”

Tickets can still be purchased at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers stores countrywide.
