Baroka FC wallop Polokwane City

Both goals came in the first half, with Albert Mothupa and Collins Makgaka finding the back of the net.

POLOKWANE – Baroka FC proceeded to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after walloping Polokwane City 2-0 at the  Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Baroka destroyed Rise & Shine in the middle of the park, with Donald Mokondelela making good running and distributing powerful balls to his striking force.  The NFD outfit took the lead in the 42th minute through Mothupa after a free-kick from the left flank that was first headed by Jacky Motshegwa, and Mothupa find the back of the net in a close range after a rebound.

Four minutes later, Mokondelela made a run and his dedicated square-pass was tapped in the net by Makgaka to make it 2-0.

Polokwane City coach Julio Leal accepted the defeat, saying his team was not doing well  in the midfield.

Baroka FC coach, Kgoloko Thobejane said he is happy with the performance of his boys and the team.  The team will lock horns with Supersport United in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup.

He has called on the people of Limpopo to rally behind Baroka, “I’m determine that my boys will win the Nedbank trophy,” said Thobejane.
