128 golfers tee off at Mayoral Charity Golf Day

The Mayor Charity Golf Day took place at the Polokwane Golf Club last Friday.

POLOKWANE – The Mayoral Charity Golf Day was well supported and 128 players registered.

The Mayor Charity Golf Day took place at the Polokwane Golf Club last Friday.

The sporting event raised money to assist charity organisations and children from disadvantaged families within the Polokwane Municipality with bursaries to further their education.

The nearest to the pin on hole four was Charles Lekaka, on hole eight Paul Leshabela and hole 16 Freddy Greaver.

Patrick Cahill had the longest drive for men on hole seven while the longest drive for ladies on hole two was played by Lynette Smith and on hole 12 by Phindo Mohlala.

The winners of the golf day are:

• Men A (0-9 handicap):

1. Mpho Makhado with a total of 42 points.

• Men B (10-16 handicap):

1. Peet Swart with a total of 42 points on a count-in.

• Men C (handicap of 17 and up):

1. Raymond Martin with a total of 41 points.

• Ladies:

1. Phindo Mohlala.
