Big Walk – a step in right direction

The fourth edition of the Big Walk took place at the Polokwane rugby field on Sunday, 4 October.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo hosted the provincial Big Walk competition as part of its commitment to raise fitness levels and promote healthy living option among residents.

The fourth edition of the Big Walk took place at the Polokwane rugby field on Sunday, 4 October. Residents from all over the city came to participate in the Big Walk for a good cause.

The Big Walk was introduced by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture with the aim to encourage people to make walking a part of their leisure-time activities. The programme has been prompted by the increased number of obesity diagnoses and the high incidence of heart attacks in communities.

The day was packed with fun activities as residents participated in various sporting events with Body Life. Body Life instructors offered an aerobics class before and after the Big Walk.
