Bodybuilders use their muscles to win R10 000

The second edition of the Limpopo Fitness and Bodybuilding (LFB) Money Show that was held in the city last Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Bodybuilders from the province and as far as North West and Swaziland let their bodies do the talking during the second edition of the Limpopo Fitness and Bodybuilding (LFB) Money Show that was held in the city on Saturday.

The tournament, which was presented by Kgabo Sports Events saw 60 athletes compete for R10 000 prize money, medals and trophies that were at stake.

“The bodybuilding and fitness tournament is unique in the province and we are planning to grow it to greater heights. We believe that such events will encourage citizens to take part in sport to prevent and/or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns,” said Kgabo Kobo, event organiser.

He further said the main purpose of the tournament was to promote a healthy lifestyle. He added that the event was also attended by physiotherapists, dieticians and medical doctors who later gave athletes a few tips on how to stay in shape and avoid injuries.

“We need sponsors so that we can host such events more often and train young children in the province. Citizens should participate in various sporting codes to stay fit and active. Kgabo Sports Events does not only focus on bodybuilding but on other sporting codes as well.”

Kobo further thanked mifitness, club 100 SA and Masemola Optometrists, SDH Nutrition and Leshobela Distributors for sponsoring the event and making it a success.

Results for the tournament:

• Male bodybuilding u/23 – Mpho Legoabi.

• Men u/70 kg – Johannes Lalo.

• Men u/80 kg – Velly Molefe.

• Men u/90 kg – Andrew.

• Men over 90 kg – Remember Shabangu.

• Female bodybuilding – Memory.
