WBF title fight: Skeleton vs Godfather

Don't miss the World Boxing Federation (WBF) featherweight vacant title fight between Sydney Skeleton Maluleke and Godfrey Godfather Nemukongwe on 25 September.

LIMPOPO – Limpopo Champ Boxing Promotion in partnership with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture will present a World Boxing Federation (WBF) featherweight vacant title fight between Sydney Skeleton Maluleke and Godfrey Godfather Nemukongwe over 12 rounds in Thohoyandou Town Hall on 25 September.

The Malamulele-born, Skeleton has participated in 21 fights, of which he won 16, with 10 KO while Godfather of Thohoyandou competing in 16 fights, of which he won 10, one with a KO. Skeleton’s last fight was in June this year when he beat Zimbabwean Tawanda Chigwida by TKO in the third round during their international featherweight clash in Giyani.

Michael Phiri, spokesperson for the Limpopo Champ Boxing Promotion, said it will be a spectacular tournament to be contested under the theme: Who’s going to survive?

Other title fights on the day

• SA heavyweight champion, Anton Nell will defend his title against the Cape Town born challenger, Sthembile August.

(Nell has 34 fights, of which he won 19 with KO, three draws, and had 12 losses. The challenger, August has eight fights, three wins and five losses.)

• In the middleweight title, the Ghanaian, Oriel Mgidi will clash with Bongani Molotshwa from Gauteng.

• In the lightweight provincial title, Tshifhiwa Timer Munyai will fight against his fellow countryman, Nkosinathi Tshinavhe.

(Timer has 10 fights, of which he won five with two KO’s. Tshinavhe has 26 fights, of which he won 15 with three KO. He lost nine and two ended with a draw.)

• Pakistanian boxer, Mohamed Ali Saalman, based in Polokwane, Limpopo will engage Vincent Mulaudzi in a four-round fight.

• Balanganani Ndou and Tendani Munyai will also battle it out over four rounds
