Holtzhausen, Oosthuizen triumph

Pieter Holtzhausen and Duan Oosthuizen were announced as the winners of the Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Pieter Holtzhausen and Duan Oosthuizen were announced as the winners of the Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.

The challenge was played in a betterball stableford format, with 131 golfers competing.

Holtzhausen and Oosthuizen won with 49 points, followed by Andries du Plessis and Belinda Schutte with 46 points and Len Baker and Lez Cook in third place with 45 points.

Fourth place went to Morné Myburgh and Kobus Marneweck with 45 points on a count-out, while B. Badenhorst and R. Koekemoer claimed fifth place with 44 points.

Keith Ross, Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 president, said the golfers who did not win any prizes should not feel discouraged.

“Some of the golfers felt the way Louis Oosthuizen felt when he missed those putts on the second and third holes during the Open Championships,” said Ross.

Ross further thanked all the sponsors and golfers for making the golf challenge a success.

Piet Bronkhorst made the jackpot lucky draw at holes 10, 13, 14 and 16. There was no winner for the draw and the jackpot now stands at R4 540, with only R3 632 that is payable.

Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 also had a draw and Gerald Correin (Jr) won a wheelbarrow filled with various brands of wines.
