Bags of medals for Zani’s

Some 31 rhythmic gymnasts from Zani's Gymnastics Academy represented the province during the Inter-provincial South African Championships in Randburg recently.

POLOKWANE – Some 31 rhythmic gymnasts from Zani’s Gymnastics Academy represented the province during the Inter-provincial South African Championships in Randburg recently.

Zani’s gymnasts claimed 33 medals, 12 gold, 12 silver and nine bronze medals.

Zani’s had 11 rostrum winners and 22 apparatus medalists.

Zani Prinsloo, Zani’s head coach, said the gymnasts excellent performance led to Limpopo winning a trophy for best level 3 province in the team competition. Team Limpopo was runner-up in level 2 and third in level 1.

The girls were crowned winners in their age group and each received a crown, a huge teddy bear and a gold medal.

These splendid awards were given to Thato Moeno – level 1 u/9, Potego Matsebe – level 1 u/11, Mikaila Jacobs – level 2 u/8, Rotondwa Maudu – level 3 u/9 and Niane Coetzee – level 3 u/10.

Ofilwe Hlabyago – level 2 u/9, Caitlin Smith – level 2 over 11 and Melchizedek Maponya – level 3 u/8 were announced as the overall second place and silver medal winners.

Zani’s overall third place bronze medal winners:

• Jeanine van Staden – level 1 u/8.

• Malebo Ledwaba – level 1 u/10.

• Mutshidzi Malumedzha – level 2 u/8.

• Neo Mogoshoa – level 2 over 11.

• Tammylee Ferreira – level 3 u/10.

Other Zani’s gymnasts in the top 6:

• Liana Pragji – sixth place.

• Keletso Montani – fourth place.

• Bontle Mahlangu – fifth place.

• Khomotso Marokane – fourth place.

• Amo Maleka – sixth place.
