POLOKWANE – Local soccer team, Magesi FC is through to the 2015 ABC Motsepe League national play-offs after they were recently crowned as the Limpopo champions.

The play-offs will take place in three various venues in Kimberly, Northern Cape from July 20 to 26.

Magesi will battle it out with other teams for two spots in the National First Division (NFD).

The team proceeded to the play-offs last season, but did not proceed to the NFD after they lost one match out of three.

Jacky Ledwaba, Magesi FC head coach, said the team was ready to compete in the play-offs.

“It has been a long and difficult journey, but the players and the team management worked together to win the provincial championships. We have been working hard and I am certain that we will do our best in the play-offs,” said Ledwaba.

He said they had been preparing for a while and they were ready to face any team.

He added that the team had a chance to watch the other teams play and that gave them the chance to spot their weak points.

“We went out as a team to watch our rivals play so that we could spot their weaknesses. We also played a few friendly matches to try various tactics that might work for us in the play-offs,” he explained.
