ALL Star FC from Seshego zone 4 were crowned the winners of a Youth Day soccer tournament, which was played at the M.E Makgato sports grounds in Seshego last Tuesday.

LIMPOPO – ALL Star FC from Seshego zone 4 were crowned the winners of a Youth Day soccer tournament, which was played at the M.E Makgato sports grounds in Seshego last Tuesday.

All Star beat Sporting FC 9-8 during the penalty shoot-out.

They walked away with a R1 500 cash prize, a trophy and gold medals.

According to the tournament organiser, Topsy Moselekoa, the objective of the tournament was to commemorate Youth Day.

“We just wanted to honour the youth of 1976. Youth people today must make a positive change in society.

“The youth of 1976 died for education, for knowledge and for a proper foundation for learning, but young people today are eager to drop-out of school and misuse the opportunities that the youth of 1976 fought for,” said Moselekoa.

He added that the tournament would be held annually.

Kabelo Chauke of All Star was named the player of the tournament.

In another match, Dinoko FC beat Mapatsula FC 2-0.
