Nyundu signs at Leopards

BLACK Leopards FC's top goal scorer, Roggert Nyundu has signed a three-year-contract with the team, dismissing allegations of him returning to Polokwane City FC.

POLOKWANE – BLACK Leopards FC’s top goal scorer, Roggert Nyundu has signed a three-year-contract with the team, dismissing allegations of him returning to Polokwane City FC.

Nyundu (27), who joined Leopards in January from City FC on a loan-deal, scored 13 goals that helped Lidoda Duvha qualify to play in the National First Division (NFD) promotional play-offs.

Leopards spokesperson, Barry Ramunenyiwa, confirmed that Nyundu had signed a three year contract.

He said the technical team would return without any changes and head coach, Zeca Marques will still lead the team.

“We are making sure everyone remains in the team. We had a very good team thus we are keeping them. We want to see Lidoda Duvha return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL),” said Ramunenyiwa.

Last month, City FC’s chief operations officer, Tincy Tema said they wanted to take Nyundu back immediately after the NFD play-offs.

City FC manager, Costa Bellos, said Nyundu was still a Rise and Shine player and the team had a long contract with him.

Asked to disclose the terms of the contract, Bellos said: “it is obvious Nyundu is a City player”. When told that the attacking midfielder had signed a contract with Leopards, Bellos said “it was something else”.

CV has learnt that three PSL teams including SuperSport United, reportedly have their eyes on Nyundu.
